Surgical Research Director

Tulane University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery is currently seeking candidates for a Surgical Research Director, an administrative faculty position. Applicants must have a PhD. or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities will include oversight of all research activities within the department: basic, translational, clinical and industry-sponsored trials. This position will establish a clear infrastructure organizing resources to support the research activities of each division and their research faculty. Along with this will oversee metrics to track research productivity. Establish a collaborative environment to create and achieve a vision and strategic plan for surgical research. Provide assistance/facilitate grant writing, submission, manuscript preparation and to the clinical trials staff. Duties will be re-evaluated from time to time.
