‘Surgeries’ is the Academy’s official journal. Our partnership provides members of the ASR with a number of benefits, including discounts on publishing in our journal.

Surgeries (ISSN 2673-4095) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal offering a platform for all content related to findings and developments in experimental surgery.  The journal leads and promotes scholarly communication and interactions among scientists, clinicians, and technologists whose primary interests focus on theoretical, clinical, and experimental research and advances in all fields of surgery, including: state-of-the-art surgical innovations, postoperative therapy, and surgery-preventing strategies (i.e., Watch and Wait). The journal is supported by a strong Editorial Board, details at https://www.mdpi.com/journal/surgeries/editors.

Immediately upon publication, articles published in the journal are freely available to everyone to read and reuse, provided attribution to the author is given. Publication is funded by article publication charges (APCs) which are discounted for ASR members.

ASR foundation publication grants may be applied for to cover discounted publication fees (please email  jrmanke@associationsolutionsinc.com or kschlieff@associationsolutionsinc.com) for members in need of additional support.  We are pleased to partner with Surgeries in our shared mission to advance surgical sciences for the benefit of society at large!

In addition, Surgical Savvy will help you keep up to date with the Academy and your colleagues with registration reminders, deadlines for abstracts, posters, scholarship applications, mentorship program and membership survey results!

The Surgical Savvy page is open for submissions 365 days a year! No more time constraints or deadlines.  If you have something, send it and we will post it!

Members are encouraged to submit short articles to be featured in Surgical Savvy and will receive up to 4 continuing education (CE) credits for each accepted submission.  Examples of submissions:  comparative evaluation of surgical scrub preparations, overview of capnography, mouse surgical tips when using DSI transmitters, ergonomics for the microsurgeon, etc.
