Abstract: Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and in the United States. Each type of cancer has a specific set of risk factors, but several risk factors are common including age, use of tobacco and alcohol, radiation and sunlight exposure, chronic inflammation, and family history. The long-term successful intervention of many chronic diseases in our society directly correlates with an average increased life span. A worldwide older population increases the possibility and risks of developing cancer on average in the world. As a result, the world of cancer treatment continues to evolve with new therapeutic interventions to save people’s lives. One of the more promising treatment interventions is through personalized/precision medicine where an individual’s immune system is reprogrammed to fight malignant cancers. CAR T-Cell Therapy is a revolutionary form of Cancer Immunotherapy/Immuno-Oncology that shows great promise for those afflicted with cancer. The continued use of preclinical models in the search for new therapeutics for malignant cancer is fundamental to finding a successful treatment for our society.
